Bad Moon Rising
The four wheel drive crunched over rocks as it approached a clearing, its black duco smeared with a fine coat of dust. The forest opened up into a flat, grassy area by the banks of a small creek. When the car skidded to a stop in the centre of the clearing, four people in their late teens jumped out and took in the surrounds.
Pete Matthews and his younger sister, Caitlin, were first to alight and immediately went over to the edge of the creek. It was only about twenty feet across and not very deep. Pete ran his eyes over the cool, clear water and watched as it bubbled over rocks on its journey through the valley.
“Hey, this is a great spot, Robbie.”
Pete turned to see his friends, Jeff Rudd and Robbie Taylor, coming towards them.
