An excerpt from the book:

My face stung and fresh tears welled up. “Please,” I begged, and was treated to another rough slap across the other side. There was no repressing the tears as I fumbled with my shirt, drawing it up my belly and over my head. My pert breasts were exposed, so I promptly crossed both arms over them. In the back of my mind, I wondered if Raul might be on his way to save me.

Look at those senos!” Angelo hummed, and bent down over top of me. My hands were forced aside and he cupped one in his hand, squeezing it roughly. I jerked back at his touch but kept a close eye on the knife he held in the other hand.

Oh yeah, mami. Me and you, we’re gonna have a good time!” Angelo said, with his eyes wide and a menacing sneer drawing up the corners of his mouth. “Too bad your big, tough boyfriend can’t be here to watch!”

I gasped out when he lowered his head, covering a nipple with his hot mouth. The sweat that beaded up on my breast mixed with his saliva, which he licked with his tongue or smeared with his fingers. The hand holding the knife went out of my view, but I could feel the blunt handle of it bearing into my side. My heart was pounding in my chest so hard it felt like my ribcage was going to split open.

***

When the first man rushed in armed with a knife my first instinct wasn’t to scream, even though he’d told me not to. My instinct wasn’t to strike out at him, either, and what a foolish prospect that would have been. There was no way I could take him out, much less his two friends coming through the doorway right behind him.
