Travis stood by the front window, spreading the blinds with his fingers every dozen seconds or so and peering out into his still-empty driveway. Every time he snuck a look outside and found no new cars pulling in, he glanced at his watch.
“Oh, will you just sit down and relax?” Betty said from behind him. Travis turned towards her, letting the blinds snap close with a thin, metallic rattle, smiling sheepishly. “You’re pacing like you’ve just guzzled a gallon of espresso.”
Travis beamed at his radiant new wife. They’d been married for less than a month, still in that early blissful stage where nothing could ever go wrong. His eyes wandered over her as they always did. She could have easily passed for mid-twenties, instead of her actual thirty-six. Long auburn hair had been clipped up by a large comb, with emerald eyes giving him a perfect mix of mirth and consternation. She crossed her arms under her breasts, medium in size and currently covered by a thin button-up shirt. Their newlywed status also meant almost constant sex. Maybe there was time for a quickie, he thought. He felt himself growing hard as his eyes unconsciously took in her curves, until Betty snapped her fingers.
