A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR
This book begins with a story of what life was like before having all the luxuries, we today, take for granted. The story tells about the hard times and bad times; the story is about the Black Tuesday, October 29, 1929, when the U.S. stock market collapsed. This then pulled the United States of America in the Deep Dark Depression of the 1930s where unemployment reached 4.5 million to a Disastrous level over 25 percent by 1933, and over 15 million American worker’s affected;
It will also tell about better times and good times and happy times in the early 1900’s. As if that weren’t bad enough, the weather patterns became more violent in the winter and by the mid 1930’s nature itself turned savage. A huge drought laid claim to the Great Plains transforming them into a vast dust bowl; destroying farms and the resulting wind erosion likened to a desert; burying farm equipment, livestock, houses, barns and out buildings; windmills buried in sand, water holes blown over and wells drying up.
