While working to generate Facebook likes for my own page, I had an eye-opening thought: How many Facebook Fans/Followers just click "LIKE" and just leave it at that? As a social media account manager, I help clients generate likes, engage fans, really keep things active and sometimes that activity can inundate the followers news feed.

On the flipside, when I'm executing a reciprocal like strategy, the news feed of my personal account can swell to the point of annoyance to my friends. So how can you make sure that your Facebook likes don't overrun your newsfeed? Interestingly enough, the answer is in the "LIKE" button. Most people just click "LIKE" and that's it. But if you hover over the button, you'll be presented with a special menu:

By default, the "Show in News Feed" option is checked so if you want to lighten your feed, you just uncheck that option and that's it.
