Neil Ferrero was in a decidedly bad mood as he sat in his office at the Department of Parks and Wildlife in Townsville. He looked at the letter he had received on his return from his latest trip out bush. He read it again and then frowned in annoyance. The letter was from his boss Brisbane telling him that he was going to open up a part of Neil’s territory to tourists. But that was not the problem. Neil welcomed the idea that people would gain access to the varied wild life of his area. He thought it was good that southern people could experience first hand the different lifestyle that the Top End had to offer. B.J said that he was sending a one of his staff to go with Neil on his next trip. “To look the place over,” said B.J. But that was not the problem either. The problem was that the person he was sending was a girl!
