What are eye floaters?
Floaters, technically known as muscae volitantes, are flecks that appear to float in your field of vision. Floaters are debris in the vitreous gel (the back part of the eyeball) that casts a shadow on the retina.

They are small and dark shadows that dart around. They may look like spots or thread-like strands or cobwebs. Floaters themselves are harmless and benign. They come in many different shapes and sizes, and if you are reading this, chances are high that you know how extremely annoying they can be.
