About the Authors:

Dorothy McKerns, M.Ed., Ph.D. writes from her perspective which derives from a long and varied career in education and as a Speech-Language Pathologist. She has worked as an educator, diagnostician, program planner, and administrator in a wide range of settings, including rehabilitation hospitals, preschool, vocational, and public school. She has been a teacher of patients, students, parents, and other teachers, and has contributed to the development of curriculum materials and approaches. She has a Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology with minors in Anatomy and Psychology. She has held certification in General Education, K-8; Secondary English, 9-Community College, Learning Disabilities, Vocational Assessment, Academic and Psychometric Evaluation, Public School Law, School Consultant, and Director of Special Education.

Leslie McKerns, B.A., B.S. has had a varied career in which communication skills have been essential, in advertising, as a commercial interior business designer, as a business developer and consultant, and as a publicist. She has co-authored with Dorothy McKerns two grammar books and two comprehensive manuals for therapeutic education of traumatically brain injured individuals, all published by major publishers. Their newest book is called GrammarCheetah . It is a remedial grammar.
