Maggie stood up on her tiptoes, pushing her heels higher and wondering how much better her legs would look if she wore stilettos rather than her usual flat soles. As she stared at her reflection in the full length mirror she reckoned her legs appeared a little more toned when they stretched to a longer length and it brought a grin to her face. As her eyes moved higher on her body though, the grin faded a little and she ran her hands onto her expanding waistline. The comfort eating since her divorce six months earlier had taken its toll and as she turned from side to side she could see the growing curves of her body. Stripping to her bra and panties to check her figure wasn’t such a good idea after all, thought Maggie, but she continued to look. Her thoughts drifted back to her friend’s voice at their lunch date earlier in the day, laughing as Maggie bemoaned the additional weight she’d gained recently.

“Are you kidding me?” exclaimed Sarah. “You’ve got the best figure of anyone I know. Most women of 38 would die to look like you, stop beating yourself up over a few extra pounds.”

“I guess,” answered Maggie, a smile coming to her lips at her friend’s compliment. “The divorce was just a knock to my confidence.”
