Della woke up on Sunday morning feeling very excited. Mommy and Daddy had told her last night that they were going out. They would not tell her where they were going. It was a surprise!
Della asked, "Can Easter could come too?"
“Of course!” Daddy said.
When Della came downstairs, Mommy was in the kitchen packing a picnic basket. I wonder where they are going.
Della was so excited.
She sat at the table and gobbled her cereal as quickly as she could.
Mommy went upstairs with her to help her get dressed.
Della grabbed Easter and ran down to the car just as Daddy put the picnic basket into the boot.
Della climbed into her special seat hugging Easter tightly; Daddy strapped her in while Mommy checked to see that they had everything they needed for a wonderful day out.
Daddy started the car and Della looked out of the window watching her house grow smaller and smaller in the distance.
