In the past twenty-seven years that we have been married, my husband and I have always had at least one four legged companion as a part of our family. We were blessed with loving, affectionate dogs who showed us everyday what loyalty and love are all about. This book is dedicated to the ones who are now residing in doggie heaven. Thank you Cherokee, Annie, Max, Heidi and Tippy for showing us the true meaning of loving, giving, sharing and caring.
I am very fortunate to have a talented, patient and understanding husband, Robert DeBurgh. I spent many hours in my little cubbyhole of an office working on two books for the past several months. He put up with my mind constantly being preoccupied, even when we were together, and did not think I was crazy when I had an “Aha” moment and searched for notepaper to write down an idea. He also voluntarily crafted some of the pictures at the end of each story.
I want to give a special thank you to Jennifer Bastow for using her wonderful artistic ability in creating the cover for Christmas with Patchy and Calico, and for the illustrations of Patchy and Calico inside the book. Jen’s mother, Nancy Lee Parish, has been a godsend in using her expertise to format and size the pictures for the print and ebook versions of this book. Many thanks to you, too, Nancy.
My gratitude also goes to Vickie Johnstone for reading, editing and giving very helpful suggestions.
Last but not least, I also want to thank Grace Guerra and her son, Brandon, for beta reading for me. I appreciate the feedback from both a mother’s and child’s point of view.
Have You Ever Seen a Snowdog?
It was wintertime and cold, very cold outside.
Patchwork Dog and Calico Cat decided to be lazy, and just stay in bed one morning. School was out for Christmas vacation and there was really nothing to do. It was a good day to snuggle under the blankets.
