1. The Beginning
A suburb long past its prime. Dark clouds hovered in the sky. Raindrops bombarded the street. And a car slowly came to a stop. From inside the car stepped out a young girl of sixteen years, carrying a basket. Her face was drenched not with the rain, but her own tears.
She walked up the steps of a Church and put the basket down, under a shelter, away from the rain. She looked into the basket when a sob escaped her. A baby lay within. She fussed with the blanket covering the baby as tears flowed down her cheeks.
“I love you,” her voice was barely more than a whisper, meant only for the tiny soul that was her son. She kissed him. A last goodbye kiss.
