For My Son Jeremiah
Long ago in a land of yesterday, there was a King who ruled the land. His name sounds kind of funny Casear Augusta. He made a rule that everyone who lived in the land had to go to their hometown—where they were born and raised and so that they could count everyone. (Just like we count 1, 2, 3). There also was a man named Joseph who was married to a woman named Mary. Mary was pregnant with a very special baby! Joseph was born in the city of Bethlehem, in the town of Nazareth.
So Joseph and Mary headed to Bethlehem.
They tried and tried to find a room in a hotel. But there was no room for them anywhere in town because so many people were there! Finally they found a hotel called an Inn—and talked to the Manager called the Inn Keeper.
He didn’t have any rooms either, but said they could stay where the animals slept—in the Manger.
The time came for Mary’s baby to come out of her Tummy. The baby was about to be born and there they were—in the Manger next to all the Animals!
The baby was born.
