Eren realized maybe he should have taken that whole end of the world thing a bit more seriously. He watched a zombie shamble after a group of screaming mall shoppers.

Yes, definitely should have taken it more serious.

Still, who knew it would be a zombie apocalypse? He sighed and eyed the door to the mall exit. He was currently hiding against a small nook by the men's bathroom. He'd managed to duck behind it before the zombie thing started, though he still wasn't sure how that had happened. One minute he went to take a leak, the next he came out to see people being eaten. Seriously, wasn't Christmas shopping dangerous enough?

He looked at the exit again, took a deep breath, and turned away. He couldn't leave the mall yet. There was something he came here for and he planned to get it, zombie apocalypse or not. He looked down the hall. The zombies were slow, so as long as he dodged them and didn't hit any dead ends he should be fine. At least he kept telling himself that. Fear crept up his spine, but he shoved it away. Determination flashed in his eyes. With an apocalypse in action there was even more reason for him to do this. If he was going to tell his best friend that he was in love with him and risk a friendship that was more important to him than breathing, he was damn well going to do it right.
