Chapter 01. New Girl

“Hey! You gotta problem!” I growled cogently. It was pretty loud in the bar and they were feeling pretty good if you know what I mean. I wanted to make sure I came off with the correct inflection in my voice.

Normally, I wouldn’t have said nor done anything. But, these guys were bugging me. I was just sitting at my little table drinking my ex away when they came in. They were loud. They were obnoxious. They were well on their way into inebriation before they even sat down. There were more than a dozen empty tables in the place, but they had to sit at the one next to mine. I chose it specifically because it was off to the side near the kitchen entrance. I could still be seen from the bar, but it was a stretch. The bartender usually kept his focus on the main floor. It was also dank and dark and out of the main traffic flow. That was, until now.
