This work was originally published by Peacock Publishing Company of 1106 Third Avenue, Seattle, Washington in 1933. The copyright was not renewed in the 1960s and the work entered the public domain. In the 1970s, it was reprinted in a soft covered limited facsimile edition by Shorey Bookstore of Seattle.
In 2009, another reprint edition, which is the basis for this e-book, was prepared. The original typeface and pagination were not retained. All the original illustrations were included. Many illustrations were added to this edition from other sources. No corrections were made to punctuation or grammar. Occasional corrections were to typos and mis-spelling. An appendix was compiled by Andy Barnett, who is proud to be a great-great nephew of M.J. Heney through his great-grandfather Thomas Heney, his grandmother, Mae (Heney) Clifford and his mother, Colleen (Clifford) Barnett. Barnett is the author of Libraries, Community and Technology.
This e-book edition varies from the 2009 print edition in that, while all photographs originally in the print book are included, some of those added to the 2009 have been dropped and some additional photographs have been added.
