Think of turkey bacon as a gateway food to a healthy diet. Cooked crisp, it not only handily replaces its porky namesake with eggs or in BLT’s, it provides a tasty protein focal point for a whole new world of wrap and salad. Turkey bacon is great buddies with avocado, nuts, and all kinds of good green leafy things. It even works with fruit (like pineapple or mango salsa).
If you can put the cheese grater down and wave goodbye to the beloved baked potato, you can travel with turkey bacon into a greener, fruitier, nutty world where your blood sugar is controlled by your own body, with little or no help from drugs. If you carry extra weight, you wiill drop it. You’ll settle down to your body’s healthy weight because you eat dawn to dusk and because all the greens, nuts and fruits are what your body understands (fewer toxins). Your body will forgive you for a few non-fatty processed foods like the turkey bacon... as long as you forego the uber-poison, sugar. It might take a couple of months, but once your body trusts you to no longer pour carbs and sugar into it, the cravings will fade and your immune system can quit running haywire. Then organs like the pancreas can heal and the general inflammation responsible for dozens of diseases and conditions can be reduced.
Eating the turkey bacon way is not a chore for me. Even though I used to eat far more fried and cheese drenched fare than greens, nuts, and fruits, I thoroughly enjoy my new menu. Feeling this strong and balanced is impossible to overrate. Your challenge is to begin to eat well BEFORE you have a gun to your head.
