This book is taken from a dialog held with SGM S. George Pesare in July 2011. As part of the Martial Arts Lineage Project, the discussion in this book revolves around the evolution and development of the style of Kempo Karate from the eyes of the man responsible for introducing it to the northeastern United States in the late 1960’s. As a young child practicing Kempo Karate in Maine, I remember learning Senior Grandmaster Pesare’s name for the first time as I studied my own school’s lineage. I would go on to learn kata created by SGM Pesare himself as he contributed his own insights to the art.
