Setting- The novel is set on a fictional island off the coast of England known as Indian Island.

Point of View- The point of view is constantly shifting as it takes a look at each of the ten main characters and focuses on each during different parts of the novel. The narrator is unnamed and it can be assumed that he or she is well aware of the events on the island, and perhaps involved in the mystery.
