There was nothing Chalyce liked better than summer at Shadow Lake. Each year, when school was finally ended, Chalyce’s parents took her and her brother, Grayson, to a cabin at the lake where they spent time fishing, swimming, and enjoying time together away from the city. To Chalyce, the grass was a prettier green and the sky a brighter blue at the lake.
Mornings at Shadow Lake meant waking to the cool breeze rustling through her window and the delicate song of many birds in the tall trees outside. The days were free of homework and full of exploration. Each day was a new adventure with so much nature to see and enjoy. From hiking in the nearby hills to searching out the sparkling streams near the lake, casting a wiggly worm into the water and waiting for a fish to bite, Shadow Lake in the summer made Chalyce very happy.
