Stranded in New York
My name is Marshall. My parents were killed in a plane crash when I was young, and I've been switching from foster family to foster family for years now, but I haven't been able to find a place that I can call home... I had saved up money for two years delivering newspapers, and finally had enough to come to New York City. I arrived here a week ago, and was supposed to leave today, but right now it looked like I wouldn't be on that flight... It was only half an hour until my plane flew out, and I was stuck in Rockaway, Queens...
Earlier that day, I had decided to go out down to the ocean. So, I took the subway from Manhattan all the way down to southern Queens, near Jamaica Bay. After walking around for a while, I decided to sit down on the beach, but just for a few minutes. I started to lay down on the soft sand, and slowly drifted to sleep.
