On the beach sat a
big hunk of Wood
It was quite content, it would sleep if it could
Laying right next to a big rusty nail,
a clam shell, a bottle, and an old muddy pail
And early each day
the sea came in crashing
Onto the shore, and its waves all a-splashing.
With its long friendly fingers it reached up on the sands
Came over to Wood, just trying to shake hands.
One of those
mornings the ocean rolled in
With a friendly old splash and he yelled, "How've you been?
I've been thinking about you all night, mon ami.
How would you like to go traveling with me?"
"I've seen you
sitting there day after day
And I thought you might just want to break away.
It's been so long since I first brought you here
I'm sure that it has been much more than a year."
