“I need to go to church, though.”
“Church isn’t for some time, yet.”
“Less than an hour. I need to shave, put on a tie.”
“You need to put on trousers, too.”
“I know! Come on, gerroff.”
“You don’t really want me to do that, do you?”
“I told you I needed to go to church on Sunday! You said that was okay. Said you’d let me go bright and early in the morning. Well, this isn’t letting me go!”
“I can’t help it, it just won’t go down.”
Michael’s laugh was so sexy that I couldn’t keep up the act of being inconvenienced. Still, I couldn’t miss church either. Call it Catholic guilt. Thank God it was Sunday, I figured. At least there were three separate services. Besides, even for all that whinging determination, it felt great in his arms. I didn’t know how I would have left, even if he’d allowed it.
