You cannot effectively set goals or maximize your personal and professional development until you have a profound self-understanding summarized into a Personal Value Proposition. Setting goals without one will leave a disconnect between your core values and your goals. You don’t need hundreds of pages of reading to accomplish this, but you must do the work yourself. No one else can run this process for you.
In the brief pages that follow, we’ll teach you how to study yourself, set your PVP, set great goals and continually work toward the next great version of yourself.
Why Read This?
We all have a responsibility to continually work to improve ourselves and our communities. While some people accidentally achieve greatness and happiness, relying on chance doesn’t make sense. We all have the capacity to proactively pursue and attain our own definitions of success and positively affect the world around us.
More importantly, each of us represent a unique combination of talents and shortcomings. To reach our full potential, we need to figure out how to maximize our talents and mitigate our weaknesses. Nelson Mandela once said, “There is no passion to be found in settling for a life that is less than what you are capable of living.” In other words, not only do we all have a responsibility to continually work to become the next great version of ourselves, life remains boring and uninspiring otherwise.
