Conversation: A Retreat

Ted: I want to go to a retreat. No, I need to go to a retreat. Yes, I really need to go to a retreat.

Allen: Sounds like you know your needs.

Ted: Yes, I do. I really need to go to a retreat.

Allen: Sounds good to me. What do you do at a retreat?

Ted: Oh, it’s great. I mean, peace. I sleep until I want to get up. Then I eat a great breakfast and take a walk.

Allen: Rest, food, exercise – sounds good to me, too. When do these retreats happen?

Ted: Not often enough.

Allen: I guess not, but how do you go retreat or what do you call it?

Ted: It’s usually a weekend event. The really good ones occur on three-day weekends. That extra day really adds a lot.

Allen: Do you ever do a one-day retreat?

Ted: I’ve tried that, not as good as a two- or three-day event, but still, so refreshing.

Allen: I think I’ll try a retreat tomorrow, Saturday.
