The rain poured down into the empty street. Camus stepped out of his house and slowly walked down the road. He pulled his traveling cloak tightly around him to help stop the drenching rain from soaking him. Many people watched from windows as he left his hometown yet again. The effects of the raid by Runvald and his bandits were visible on the buildings he passed by. Scorch marks, busted doors, and scared people behind broken windows everywhere the eye could see. Camus walked down the main road to the gate, but stopped just outside the exit to town. A short person, probably a dwarf, was sitting on the burned, broken gate door that still sat in the mud. The person was likewise bundled in a cloak, thus hiding any noticeable features.
