What you are about to read is a book written by my long time friend and associate, Shelly Saltman. When I read it, I found it to be exactly like the man himself. He has always carried himself with humor and dignity even as he accepted and overcame any task handed to him. He is one of the most creative men I have ever known.
He has been able to capture, I believe, in both his descriptions and in the telling of the story, the ability to convey to us the readers, a light-hearted, humor-filled though sometimes-disjointed journey. This makes the book both easy to read and at the same time, a story that you can easily pick up where you left off and never miss a beat.
I personally know of no one else who could tell this story. His narration of how he enjoyed the company of his wife for over 50 years is real. It is a dialogue I personally witnessed on countless occasions over the years.
I envy the way he brings his love affair to life. It was as if he was talking directly to me. His style is unique, while being breezy, informative and filled with the zest of discovery. It is he.
