Chapter One – Fall Out

Orlando stepped onto the subway platform and kept to the shadows as he watched Charlotte wait for the train. The platform was busy for a Wednesday night; Orlando couldn’t help but take a look at each one of the travelers. It must have been the months of training that had been pounded into him by Ruben who had seen to his grueling training schedule. Hunting zombies and other creatures of the night had taken its toll on Orlando, but it has helped to shape him into the hunter that he had become. The number of zombies was increasing. It was becoming difficult for the few hunters to keep the zombie situation under control and out of the notice of the general public. Zombie attacks had become a nightly occurrence. Frequent attacks were expected. This was due to a drug called Zotrix1. Zotrix1 was becoming widely prescribed, and it was an easy explanation for the source of the behavior behind the nightly attacks in which otherwise normal individuals would suddenly turn murderous as they tried to eat people.
