The Role of the Law
The role of the law in modern times is to equalize the playing field and ensure that all people can participate meaningfully in society. Without this fairness and equity, individuals invariably live in a pseudo-reality, believing they are striving toward independence and at full participation when neither is true. Qualities like self-sufficiency are supplanted by reliance on the marketplace. As the public domain erodes, freedom is replaced with debt, and high market prices.
