The sun's rays penetrate the earth like a whip scorching a body mercilessly. Guanajuato - a picturesque place full of virgin landscape, embraced by rock formations locking the magic within. It is a natural beauty that allows for the inconvenience of the humidity and heat. The journey, is sweetly enhanced by the aromatic scent of gardenias and foliage, serve to seductively draw you in. Indeed, Guanajuato is a colloquial place of grace and charm. The Spanish were clever in wanting to leave their mark on such a place, establishing cobblestone roads. It is forever young resenting growing old. It is a timeless world that stands still with the passage of years, holding on to the breast of nature in order to continue suckling the dew of youth. It seems earth has surrendered her love to this child that has seized to further grow.

The sudden halt of the horses made a quick stop in front of a lovely hacienda. It is the Hacienda of San Gabriel that holds much mystery behind the ornate iron walls, handcrafted with perfection, laced with white flowers to accentuate its surrounding. As you approach the gates it's protected by two stones lions much like the Canova lions that form part of the Rezzonico Monument in St Peter's Rome.
