The doorbell chimed just as Misty pulled the dark brown glass casserole dish out of the oven and turned the stove off. She set the hot mitts on the counter and went to answer it. Through the peep-hole, she spied a tall, blond man in a dark blue shirt and jeans standing in the dimly lit corridor outside her apartment. Who could this be? she wondered. She checked the wall clock: eight-fourteen. She ran her hands down the front of her white denim skirt to smooth out the wrinkles and made sure her mauve blouse was tucked in. With a pleasant smile, she opened the door.
