I was grazing with my children when he called me. A herd of us wandered far out in the grasslands, with the eternal blue sky arching above.
He strode along, bridle over one arm, saddle over the other, and I knew at once what he had come for.
During past meetings, he had ridden me through the night sky. I would leap from star to star, sure-footed, the air firm as rock against my hooves. Or he'd ridden me under the sea, deep in the pressure of blue water, into cold black graves of slithering slime, until the roots of the World-Tree ran rough under my stride.
