Some people called Lake Mountain haunted; some people, cursed. Silly humans. They suspected everything from an ancient Native American burial ground to the ghosts of pioneers who'd perished in the hard winters. People talked of werewolves and sasquatch and aliens from outer space.

Llendaar didn't care what they thought as long as they did it from afar and left him in solitude. Otherwise, he killed them.

Llendaar considered all humans the same: narrow minded, short sighted, self absorbed, arrogant. They ran roughshod over the world without giving any thought to the consequences of their actions. He had to admit, didn't care. So long as they didn't bother him, they could act as they pleased--meaning, elsewhere.
