Light from the full moon streams through the small window illuminating a tiny room with one occupant. The room has a small bed and shelves on one wall. A small desk and chair sit against the other wall. The moonlight washes away all color and barely allows the woman sitting cross legged on the bed to see what she is doing.

Next to her is a pile of strips of cloth, torn from the bed sheet in her hands. She rips the edge of the sheet with her teeth and slowly tears off another strip. The woman works quietly with frequent glances to make sure the door stays closed.

She starts tying the strips together to make a rope. This evening’s activities have a purpose – she wants to escape life at this mental institution. For five long years she has lived with her memories and she has finally had enough. Tonight she will leave.
