Callie had such an inimitably tedious and barely scrutable way of expressing her thoughts, especially at four in the morning, when she'd had a couple of litres of white wine and two packs of Marlboro. I wouldn't dare describe these things she went on and on about as opinions, because she would insist violently upon their being. FACTS! She had made that little issue very clear to me once with a heavy ashtray, and it was my brain or the large window behind me.
