This is my personal account of how Heavenly Father, and Jesus Christ helped me to stop smoking. It truly happened for me - first hand, and I believe it can happen for you too. I think the only prerequisite is that you have a belief that there is a God and that He is all powerful and is willing to help each one of us, individually.
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering….”(see The King James Version of The Holy Bible, New Testament, James, Chapter 1 verses 5 and 6.)
I lacked wisdom; I didn’t know how to stop smoking!
I have faith that Heavenly Father can do anything, so why not help me?
I begin my story at around 14 years old, that’s when I began smoking cigarettes. I used to swipe packs of filter less cigarettes from a neighbor. He was an old man who drove a creepy station wagon, the kind that had faded, fake wood paneling along the sides. He would leave packs of cigarettes on his dashboard and either didn’t have windows, or never rolled them up. Anyway, I remember that I liked that dizzy feeling that I experienced the first few months of smoking. That feeling however, faded over time.
I have thought a lot about why I started smoking. I have decided it was partially because of the temporary feeling that I experienced. I continued because I thought it made me look tough or cool and because most of my friends smoked. Before long I was addicted but I wouldn’t admit it.
