“The Ironic Catholic” began in 2006 as a light humor and satire blog, poking gentle fun at human foibles in the Catholic Church. I could get all philosophical about the role of humor in the spiritual life, but let’s just say that humor leads to perspective, which leads to humility, which leads to honesty, which leads to God. Or if that logical train doesn’t work for you, just think of these news items as “The Onion” on a holy and non-profane day. “An IC a day keeps the hubris away”—or something like that.
In case you are new to this game, let me make clear: these stories are completely made up. And I am not making fun of the Church; I am poking fun at its all too human inhabitants (including myself).
