I met him late at night, in a bar just past the watchtower that sits at the east end of the Charles Bridge in old Prague. I was wandering down one of those narrow alleyways, where the stone walls tower forty feet above your head and the dim glare of the streetlights barely give you enough light to keep from stumbling over the uneven cobblestones.
