Today Jackie bring cake. “It is your birthday, Sam Ian! You are three years old.”
We eat cake. It fruitcake. It taste good.
Jackie bring present. Shiny. I see my face in it. Smile. My teeth scary! I yell. She laugh.
She bring daughter. Severine two years old. She have smooth brown skin, fuzzy black hair, big brown eyes. Like Jackie. We look. She comb through my fur with fingers. This is best present.
Tom get mad today. Tom try teach me sign language. “Come on, Sam. You use the computer. Now you have to learn the signs.”
I try, but it hard. I like portaspeak. Push keyboard, synthesizer make sound. Talk for me. Fun.
“But Sam, this is more visually interesting. An homage to Koko. Now come on.”
Tom use big words. I try. I learn “apple”, “water.”
