Judge Roy Bean and

His Law West of the Pecos

Judge Roy Bean

If Judge Roy Bean was ever brought before his own court, he would have been summarily hung from the first tree.

His escapades were many, but his law decisions gained even more notoriety than his real life antics.

Phantly Roy Bean was born near Shelbyville in Shelby County, Kentucky. Some say it was before 1835 and others say it was say it was 1825 or somewhere in between. The location of his birth is now a grove of locust trees.
