David sighed. Boy, had he blown it big time. Did anyone even know he was gone? And if so, did they miss him? Okay, so it had been pretty stupid sneaking out of the complex in the first place, but for a dare? In hindsight even he thought that was over the top. His guardian, Jacob, had warned him many times that pretty pale-faced girls would get him into trouble, but he hadn’t really paid any attention as usual. David wished now he had. Then he could add his own wisdom by pointing out that it was especially the green-eyed ones called Marion with ribbons in their short blonde hair that got you into trouble. Now it looked like he would see neither Marion nor his guardian again.
