The Birth of the Thelnwens, The Fall of Karkonith and the Rise of A’vaat, as told by Juvarayr Drenshivan, First Grand Channeler of Arrylia
In the beginning, the world was nothing. The lands were barren and desolate, with no life on them, and the skies were black, with not even the smallest star in them. That is when Rythallangor the Grand Dragon, the master of all existence, decided to create a world from this barren land. He, however, did not create the world himself. For he knew that a world must be made on balance if it was to exist properly. And so, he created a son. He created Ohmrauthion, the Dragon of Creation. He told his son that he may create a world out of the barren land before him. He could create a world in any image he chose, the only stipulation, was that it had to be born and raised through balance. So, by his own ruling, the Grand Dragon created Ohmrauthion’s brother, Xalenrayth, the Dragon of Destruction. Xalenrayth was made to sleep, so that his insatiable appetite for destruction would not threaten Ohmrauthion’s world. He told Ohmrauthion that he could create his world, and that his creation would remain in existence, so long as the creatures within it maintained an overall balance of Creation. However, should the powers of Destruction ever take hold over the world, Xalenrayth would be awoken, and he would burn the world, and all within it, to ash.
