Brother, Teacher

By R. Richard ©

Our father died when we were near graduation from high school. Our mother then had to go to another town to do the only job she could get, in order to support us all. That left me, Carl, and my sister Carla alone in the house where we had grown up.

My sister Carla is the ultimate young girl. She's just a little tall for a girl, with golden hair, a pretty face and the body that a young man dreams about for his woman. Carla can charm people and she'll be the wife of a rich man.

I'm a tall, strong young man and perhaps even handsome. However, I don't have Carla's way with people. On my own I'll become either a king or a bandit. If I can just attract the right woman, I'll become a king. However, considering the current situation, that last seems a remote possibility.

After high school graduation, I get a job in a local factory, to help support us all. I make halfway decent money, but I need more education to advance. I can't afford the education I need and I continue to look for my opportunity.

Meanwhile, Carla has been trying to snag a local boy of wealthy family. Things seemed to be going well for Carla until she comes back home from a big Saturday date.

We get up Sunday and start to fix breakfast. At least I start, Carla just mopes along. We eat and then I ask, “Carla, what's the problem this morning?”
