I have always enjoyed writing and found that I could best represent what I wanted to say through the written word. God opened my eyes to Him, and through His grace I have become what I now am. I am an author who magnifies and glorifies The Creator and Savior through her words and writings.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
I had been speaking to a publisher, but I did not have any money to publish my book as a 'hard copy'. Then I found an internet site which aided Authors in the publication of their works online and found the free Smashwords site for my books to be published through. Praise God for His wonderful benefits!
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
My greatest joy in writing, is the knowledge that I can help other people through their troubles with this record of my own insights and experiences. They don't even have to know me to gather wisdom from my experiences and revelations. They can come to more fully KNOW their Heavenly Father through what I have written.
What do your fans mean to you?
I don't have fans, I have Friends. A Friend is someone who walks alongside me and talks with me of the many wonders and trials that we all go through. We speak what we do know and testify what we have seen. It is my desire to be used fully for the glory and praise of my Abba Father. I love when people read my book and the next time they see me, they smile and wink. ;7)
What are you working on next?
I have completed books 1 and 2 of the Lollapalooza Witness series of books. There will be seven books in the Lollapalooza Witness series. I am not sure what God will have me write about in each but I am sure that He will fulfill them.
Who are your favorite authors?
Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Isaiah, Daniel and Paul the Apostle are my favourite Biblical Authors. I do read other, secular Authors if God puts their book in my path and tells me to read it. Usually if God tells me to read a book, He has some enlightenment in it for me. God is my all time favourite Author, because He is the Creator of Authors. ;7)
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
God's amazing love reminds me that He has more extraordinary and amazing things to show me each and every day. Day to day utters speech, I love listening for what He will say today.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Generally, if I am not writing, I am cleaning the house or vehicles, raising up my three children in the nurture and admonition of God, cooking, laundry, grocery shopping, paying the bills or encouraging Family and Friends... You know, being useful. ;7)
What is your writing process?
When God gives me something interesting, I put it in my Journal. Then, when I am writing, God's Holy Spirit gives me what I should write and what I need to say. I have tried to write before, but never could assimilate the writings by myself. He often gives me information and text whenever He tells me, "Go down and write."
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I have heard and read many stories. The first one was probably one of the many Bible stories that my Dad and Mom read to me as a child. The story that I like most is the story of Joseph, who was named Zaphnath Paaneah by Pharaoh, after he had come through all his trials to become Governor over all Egypt, and saved many people through his God given wisdom. Joseph's story has always been dear to me. The sufferings Joseph endured reminds me that even though things might look bleak, God has a plan for each of us. Empowerment through the life and example of Joseph is a foreshadowing of the Salvation that God has made available to us, through His Son, Jesus Christ.
How do you approach cover design?
Whenever my books are published in hard copy, the first will be red, the second orange, the third yellow, the fourth green, the fifth blue, the sixth indigo and the seventh will be violet. When all of the Lollapalooza Witness series are side by side, on a shelf, it will be a rainbow. The pictures that will adorn the books are the pictures that God directs me to, as I am looking through my Family's pictures (we love taking pictures).
What do you read for pleasure?
Biographies and other true material. I read mostly from the Bible; however, I also read whatever God places in my hand and heart.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
I just give people that I meet, my card and ask them to read my book. I also let people know on my Facebook page if a new one has been finished.
