Interview with Necie Navone

Published 2018-09-25.
What are you working on next?
Once I am finished with Book 2, My One Love, Grayson and Lexy's story, I will be finishing the parent's story. So everyone will know how it all started, and that book will be FREE
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Just having one person tell me they loved my books is enough to keep me going. Nothing has ever been so rewarding than hearing that.
Who are your favorite authors?
Kristen Ashley and Marie Force, I have read and loved every book they have written. But they are more than that to me.

Kristen Ashley gave me the best pep talk at a Rock Chick Dinner in GA after I was ready to give up on my dream of ever being an author after attending a writers conference. She told me not to listen to anyone, and to keep writing the stories that are living in my head. Never give up on my dream, because my readers will one day find me, and when they do nothing will bring me as much joy as them telling me how much they love my books. And she was sooo right.

Marie Force teaches self-publish classes on Facebook and I have taken them all. She is a Godsend, or I will have never of known how to self-publish and they are incredible and I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to write. They are step by step guild and awesome. During her classes, she read a couple of chapters of my first book and told me how much she liked it and encouraged me Not To Stop Writing. I printed them and look at them when I need encouragement to keep going.

They are me true heroes or I would have never had self-pub my first book.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I'm a reading junky. I like romance, MC Hottie's, Modern Day vampires, Millionaire, Billionaire Romance. Surprise baby, even give me a good rake or a hot single cowboy. I love to get lost in a good book.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I got an email on my iPad about romance books and the iBook app. And I had to check it out. I spent a lot of time taking care of my special needs son. Michael in non-verbal and severely autistic with a sleeping disorder and he can go a couple of days with ZERO sleep, so I had to find something to keep me awake and keep an eye on him. So I fell into the world of eBooks and they saved me from depression I am sure of it. I used them as the perfect escape from my life and a wonderful refugee. They kept me awake so I could be with Michael with his all night adventures.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes, It was My Hidden Life, and I tore it up and threw it away dozens of times.
What is your writing process?
I turn on my music and get lost in my stories. They just leap out of my dreams and fill me in as I go about the rest of their story. All the characters speak to me and live in my head. I do have a basic draft on each one of them, and add things all the time about their looks and personallity in my book.
How do you approach cover design?
Usually, as I get close to the end of the story, the title will leap out at me. Then I'll have to google it to make sure it hasn't been taken. Soon after I get a basic idea of what I see as the cover, and then I try and explain it to my cover design artist. But there is about 2 cover I haven't even written the book, but I've told my girl that is what I wanna see on the cover for their books. LOL
What are your five favorite books, and why?
50 Shades, because I see it as a beautiful love story, even if you remove all the kink, it'd still be a beautiful love story to me.
Treading Water, by Marie Force, because it was so captivating I couldn't put it down and had to read the whole series none stop. It was the first books that did that to me.
Rock Chick Revenge By Kristen Ashley probably because it was the last one I read and what can I say, I have a thing for Luke. I love ALL THINGS ROCK CHICKS, have re-read and listened to the audibles more than any others.
Talk, Dark and Lonely by R.L. Mathewson. I hate to say this, but what can I say I have a bad thing for those day walking modern-day vampires.
Maid for the Billionaire by Ruth Cardello, Dang, did she have me fall in love with Dominic Corisi and his oh so powerful manly man or what. YEt another one, that I was so thrilled when I discovered her I could keep reading to the next book, and then the next and so on....
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I Love my iPad. I'm an Apple head, I have a kindle and have probably read 3 books on it. I ALWAYS go for my iBooks or my Kindle app. I love me some whisper sync. LOL
