I love to read information about business and investment - especially Warren Buffett ( often his tips are relevant to business owners as well as investors ). The E-myth by Michael Gerber, The Seven habits of highly effective people by Steven Covey, and also enjoy just good story Power of One by Bryce Courtenay for example.

What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
My books are educational for business owners and I often give them away at conferences or events - they are a great marketing tool to show our clients the depth of our expertise. Social media has been great for us to promote books and events.

My desk is always neat and tidy - organised !
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
In suburban Sydney - with friends and family in small business which exposed me early on to business and how family business operates.
When did you first start writing?
Have always enjoyed reading and writing has never been "hard" for me - more recently undertaking doctoral studies has introduced a new kind of writing ( far more structured and disciplined ).
What's the story behind your latest book?
Ongoing development of the intellectual property to help mid-market business owners design and implement a strategic business succession and exit plan to maximise the value fo their business and achieve a successful exit. As the business has grown and our experience with real-life clients has expanded so has the ability to better describe and outline the key aspects of a succession plan.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I find it quite relaxing but also have a strong link between writing and real business application which I enjoy !
What are you working on next?
Updated version of Build-it with new and improved "support" services to better enhance the likelihood of success of implementing an Employee Share Ownership Plan ( ESOP )
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I love watching sport - Rugby Union mostly. I also love being out on the water in the boat.
What is your writing process?
I don't really have a defined process - just get on with it - but I don't find being in the right frame of mind helps - when this is the case the words flow easily!
How do you approach cover design?
I don't - I am not artistic so I outsource it to someone who is.
What do you read for pleasure?
Mostly thrillers - Jack Ryan, Mitch Rapp etc
