Interview with Jon McLean

Describe your desk
I have no desk. I sit in a corner of my cozy living room using a small table and a wireless mouse and keyboard and I have my various stuff animals and nicknacks to keep me company.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Southern Ontario, Canada and I began writing in grade 4 as part of my creative writing class; little did I know this would become a hobby.
What is your writing process?
Google (for research), Word, Holy Spirit (for inspiration and ideas), and Coffee (LOTS of coffee!)
What's the story behind your latest book?
I call it my "accidental book" because I had no intentions of writing a devotional/inspirational book, but one day I was looking at all of my quotes and poems from the past 10 yrs and after seeking G-d's permission decided to make a compilation thus the book was born, plus I like to encourage and inspire people and what a better way of doing it.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Keeping it a hobby and not a job! The moment it becomes work I am done!
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
"LIFE, WIFE & JESUS"
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Working and spending time with family and friends. Watch a lot of Youtube and Netflix!
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes! It was called, The Book About Me" that was written in grade 4 and I won a young author's award. I was not much of a writer or artist (I drew my own pics) but it attracted enough attention that a publishing company took it to put it on display; to this day I have no idea who has or had it or where it went :(
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Because I am new on the scene, so far none.
What are you working on next?
I am working on another book titled, "31 Days Devotionals" and "My Journey from C to M"
