Interview with Hana Aianhanma
Published 2019-03-06.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
The very first not, but I do recall a series of short, handwritten, stories, each of which had a bad ending for the protagonist(s). Unfortunately, due to them getting lost, I can only remember one was by saltwater crocodiles, another by volcano.
Describe your desk
What desk?
I type either at the kitchen table, accompanied by my betta fish or I do so at the low table in the living, sitting on a pillow on the floor.
What is your writing process?
Write, then edit.
If I am not happy with the result, I start over.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
A dedicated e-reader. I very much like the way my specific model fits in my hands and the screen is much easier on my eyes.
What do you read for pleasure?
Fantasy and science fiction, mostly.
Recent favourites are the Thraxas series by Martin Scott and the Culture novels by Iain M Banks
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Either by browsing through shops, or by checking the websites of my favourite authors.

To Mars and Other Short Stories
by Hana Aianhanma
Quirky, erratic, entertaining, interesting and fun. A little book filled with science fiction, fantasy and other short stories about Mars, dogs, sloth-like aliens, otaku, a missing ghost, and a recipe for gryphon wings. It also has dragons (the book, not the recipe).
