Interview with Carmela Barrios

Published 2015-12-22.
When did you first start writing?
I first started writing back when I was in high school. I had this big notebooks where I had written my stories down. I remember filling up five big notebooks and my siblings would read it. They were my first readers. Then, they would lend it to their friends who liked reading, and that was how I grew a small fan base back then. Ah, the memories. LOL
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I wanted to have my books in print. That's the major reason why I decided to venture in this Indie publishing journey. Also, most of my favorite authors are all Indie Authors and I admire them so much.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Writing allows me to live a different life. It allows me to escape the reality of my own life, and allows me to rest for a period of time.
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans and readers mean a lot to me. They read my works and I am forever grateful.
What are you working on next?
I am working on the editing of the sequel for And So She Fell. The title is And She Was Caught.
Who are your favorite authors?
I have a LOT of favorite authors since I am a huge bookworm to start with. Some of my favorites are J.K Rowling (go figure!), Sarah Dessen, Nicholas Sparks, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Julie James, Susan Andersen, Sophie Kinsella and Kristen Ashley. They are my heroes.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Salary. LOL. This is a tough question to answer right now... I shall archive this for next year, maybe I will have a better answer.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I read... or I watch movies. When I am feeling outdoorsy, I spend time with my friends and doing low budget travels.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Sometimes from recommendations, then from the indie authors that I follow.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes I do! Still makes me laugh when I remember it. I had this huge crush with a classmate and wrote my fantasies down.
