Interview with Alice F Spencer

What is your e-reading device of choice?
Right now I have a Nook, I read on my laptop, but pretty sure a Kindle is next on my list.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Just word of mouth and sharing with friends and family on social media.
Describe your desk
My desk is everywhere. I set up a complete office for writing only to discover that I loved being able to move around to different spaces to write.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Fort Worth, TX., it's full of such a diverse group of people. I love Texas it makes me happy, and when I'm happy I write.
When did you first start writing?
I don't remember when I didn't write. I remember writing a small book or two in elementary .
What's the story behind your latest book?
I love poetry, at times it helped me through very emotional times in my life. So this is just the first of many installments of poetry.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I feel like every aspect of an indie writer is my personality. I'm simple, independent, and I love what I do.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
It's given me an opportunity to share my work and I really like the guidance they provide.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
It just feels good and I don't have to force it. We wear so many hats in life and a lot of them are emotionally brutal but financially needed. Writing is just a joyful experience.
What do your fans mean to you?
Everything .... Knowing that someone likes, and enjoys my work is such a blessing.
What are you working on next?
Next is my second book of poetry and a series called The working girl.
